Why Super Bueno? by Benny Lim
I get asked by people all the time why the team is called Super Bueno. The team is named after my good friend Laura Cepeda, whom I met in Beijing. She's from Colombia, and her brother affectionately calls her 'super bueno' when he talks to her on the phone. I chose Super Bueno because it brings back good memories from my adventures in Beijing, and it was also there that I decided to form my own team once I returned to Manila.
Coat of Arms
A black star over a field of black and gold is the symbol of Super Bueno. The black star represents the unheralded players on the team that have risen up from the ranks and yet remain humble and workmanlike in regards to training and attitude. There are no superstars on the team, and that is what makes the team special. The field of black and gold represents death and glory, for glory can only be achieved if one is willing to risk everything, including death.
Oretachi-what?!
It's "Oretachiwa Bueno!" Oretachiwa literally means 俺たちは or 'We are' in Japanese. "We are Bueno!" That's our battle cry in our huddles. It originated from Agu Veloso, one of our captains on the team.
Rule no. 1
The first and only rule of Bueno - No Drama Allowed. It's a simple rule, and it's proven to be a successful one too. A team without drama is a team that can focus on a common goal with very little distractions. We play Ultimate so we can get away from the stress and nuisances of the real world. There's plenty of drama in other teams, but you won't find any in Super Bueno.
